Frequently asked questions.
What is breathwork and how does it work?
Breathwork is the intentional practice of controlling your breath to shift your physical, mental, and emotional state. Through specific techniques, you can release stress, regulate your nervous system, and access deeper states of awareness. It’s a powerful way to clear stuck energy and reconnect with yourself.
What is somatic coaching and how is it different from talk therapy?
Somatic coaching focuses on the body and nervous system, rather than just the mind. While talk therapy works through stories and thoughts, somatic practices use movement, breath, and awareness to release what’s stored in the body. It helps you feel safe, grounded, and empowered in ways that talking alone sometimes can’t reach.
Do I need experience to join a session?
Not at all! Every session is beginner-friendly and fully guided. All you need is an open mind and willingness to explore your breath and body. You’ll be supported every step of the way.
Is Breathwork safe for everyone?
Most people can practice breathwork safely, but there are some conditions where caution is advised (such as pregnancy, heart conditions, epilepsy, or severe psychiatric diagnoses). If you have health concerns, please consult with your doctor before joining. Modifications can be offered when needed.
What kinds of results can I expect?
Every experience is unique, but many people report feeling lighter, calmer, more connected to themselves, and free of stress or emotional weight. Over time, breathwork and somatic coaching can help regulate your nervous system, build resilience, and create space for lasting transformation.
What should I bring to a session?
I provide a yoga mat, blanket, eye mask and headphones. You are always welcome to bring your own as well as anything else you need to make yourself comfortable. I also recommend bringing a bottle of water for after
Should I eat before breathwork?
It’s best to avoid eating 2–3 hours before a session. If you need something small, choose something light and grounding, like fruit or nuts. A lighter stomach allows for a more comfortable and deeper experience.
What should I wear to a session?
Wear comfortable clothes you can relax and move in. Layers are great since body temperature can shift during breathwork.
Do you offer online/virtual sessions?
Yes! Virtual sessions allow you to experience the same powerful practices from the comfort of your home. You’ll just need a quiet space, headphones, and your setup ready to go.
How do I book a session?
You can book directly through my website on the “Schedule a Time” page. Choose between 1:1, couples, small group, or inquire about retreats and events.
Why do people cry, shake, or feel emotions during breathwork?
These responses are natural. Breathwork activates the nervous system and helps the body release stored stress, trauma, or emotions. Tears, tingling, shaking, or laughter are signs of energy moving — and it’s all part of the healing process.
What if I can’t stay with the breath the whole time?
That’s completely okay. Breathwork is a practice, not a performance. You can always slow down, return to your natural breath, and then rejoin when you’re ready. Your experience will be exactly what you need in that moment and you are always in control.
How is group breathwork different from 1:1?
In 1:1 sessions, everything is customized for your personal journey. Group sessions create a powerful collective energy that helps everyone go deeper, while still being held individually in the process. Both are transformative in different ways.
Can couples or friends do breathwork together?
Absolutely. Couples and friends often find breathwork deepens their connection and helps them co-regulate. Breathing together can strengthen bonds and open up new layers of intimacy and understanding.
How often should I practice breathwork or somatic exercises?
The more consistently you practice, the deeper the results. Many people notice the most transformation when they work with breathwork or somatic tools weekly, while others benefit from monthly sessions or retreats. Even short, regular practices at home can create lasting change. Ultimately, it depends on your goals and what feels sustainable — but the more often you give yourself this gift, the more powerful the impact.
Do you offer breathwork for retreats or corporate wellness events?
Yes! I design customized sessions for retreats, workshops, and workplace wellness. These events help groups release stress, build connection, and recharge. Contact me to discuss availability and pricing.
Can I book a private group session for friends/family?
Of course. Private group sessions are a wonderful way to share the experience with loved ones in a more intimate and personalized setting.
